Quotes on Faith From Inspirational Leaders Worldwide

Faith is one of those things I work to cultivate on a daily basis. Not only does a daily cultivation of faith in our creator bring us the blessings of nature, but it connects us with the almighty power that is God. It is faith that satisfies the illogical craving which produces the ultimate disappointment and pain associated with hope. The great Stoic philosophers saw the concept of hope as an indictment of the creator’s wisdom and plan. They believed that faith destroys the illogical desire for hope which creates a dissatisfaction of where we are which is precisely where we have been designed to be. The Stoics and later Christians knew that our current circumstance was provided to us so that we are best situated to glorify the creator and therefore serve our highest purpose if we will but live in faith while closing our hearts and minds to useless hope. It is the human condition to look at unfavorable circumstances with dissatisfaction instead of seeing them as what they are – opportunity. It is the higher mind, the clearer mind that sees all circumstances as the purposeful actions of a logical natural world, as it was created to act, and it is faith that provides contentment with these truths.

These are some of my favorite thoughts concerning the concept of faith:

Sometimes my prayer was ‘Help me.’ Sometimes a prayer was ‘Thank you.’ What I’ve discovered is that intimate connection and communication with my creator will always get me through because I know my support, my help, is just a prayer away.”  -Iyanla Vanzant
